16.  ART DECO PENTHOUSE LIVING ROOM

Art Deco, a distinctive, luxurious style from the 1920’s and 30’s, is recreated in this glamorous living room scene.  It features “marble” floors, textured walls, a huge mural, flickering fireplace, uplift floor design and indirect and unique lighting.  This is a special, one-of-a-kind roombox created especially for the 2025 Chicago International.   Students will learn how to construct the roombox, which will slip into a wood box, lay floors and put up wallpaper, build the fireplace surround and install accent and indirect lighting.  Several tips and methods that have been learned through the years will be taught.  All supplies will be provided however students are encouraged to bring their own tools and supplies.  Not included are the dolls and drinks (courtesy of Karen’s Dollhouse Shop), ceramic sculptures (courtesy of Lynette Barker), lighting supplies (courtesy of Creative Reproductions2scale) and furniture and accessories (courtesy of A Fine Miniature).
