41.  FRENCH LOUIS XV JEWEL CASKET ON STAND

A late Louis XV style casket on stand transitioning from the typical bomb-shaped to some straight lines and faces.  An elegant but functional jewel casket with mirror as well as a writing slope and drawers.  You will shape the legs and form the table, assemble the panels to form the casket, adding some banding and optional marquetry (time permitting). A lower tier tray will be made and fitted.  The lid and writing slope will be formed and hinged before fitting the brass ornament.  A finish will be applied.  Completion is likely in class however a detailed booklet is provided to complete the piece at home.  All tools and supplies will be provided however please feel free to bring small tools and any optical equipment you may require.  Approximate size in  1/12th scale  3 1/4" high, 1 3/8" wide, and 1" deep.
