52.  AUTOGRAPH BOOK IN LEATHER

Students make an autograph book in leather.  During the show you may visit your favorite miniaturists and ask for an autograph in the book.  Because a lot of time will be spent on tooling the cover of the book with the gold colored letters, “Chicago 2025”,  the book block will not be sewn but glued.  After making the different parts of the book, the process of tooling will be explained and students will have the chance to practice, after which they will apply the letters to the front of the real cover. When the cover is ready, the book parts will be assembled.  Students will go home with a gorgeous book, and the knowledge to make more books at home.  Please bring a fineliner 0,05 to use for autographing your book.  Because of airline restrictions, students will have to bring their own xacto knife ( please with a new blade in it ) . Besides the other necessary tools we are bringing a large choice of colored leather for you choose from for the cover. A portable light and reading glasses are highly recommended.
 

All supplies are provided by the instructor

except as indicated, however, students

are welcome to bring their own tools & supplies.
